Invitation from the Dutch Province: provinsje fryslân
In the first week of October 2018 the Dutch province of Friesland (provinsje fryslân) will organise an Infrastructure week and has invited the NETLIPSE Network to participate in a knowledge-sharing meeting and visit one of the projects.
The province is completing a 20-year multi-billion Euro investment programme that is currently being reviewed, based on the IPAT methodology.
The infrastructure event in Friesland will take place on Thursday 4th and Friday 5th October 2018 in Leeuwarden. Leeuwarden is the European Capital of Culture in 2018.

Pre-register for the next Network Meeting in Norway
The next NETLIPSE Network Meeting will take place in Norway (exact location, to be determined). The Network Meeting will be hosted by Nye Veier, the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) and most probably Statens Vegvesen.
Dates of the meeting: Monday 12th and Tuesday 13th of November 2018

IPATs in 2018
This year, the following IPAT® (Infrastructure Project Assessment Tool) project assessments will take place:
- A99 Munich Ring Road (part three), Germany
- Riihimäki Rail Renovation, Finland
- Main Road 12 Lahti Southern Ring Road, Finland
- Eastern Link ’Ostlänken’, Sweden
For these and the upcoming IPATs, NETLIPSE is searching for new (Lead) Assessors to join our IPAT-teams! IPAT assessors are part of the international peer-to-peer IPAT assessments applied in large infrastructure project in Europe. Would you like to be an IPAT-assessor? IPATs in 2019
There are still places left for IPAT assessments in 2019! So if you and/or your project are interested in a full-scale and cost-effective review of the project performances by a group of peers, please let us know via e-mail!
Challenges in managing and organising large transport infrastructure projects in Europe
On June 20th the Association for Project Management (APM) organises an event on challenges in the project management of large infrastructure projects. The event takes place in Crawley (UK, near London). NETLIPSE Network Director Pau Lian Staal-Ong will present several lessons learnt and challenges, as described in the book “10 Years of Managing Large Infrastructure Projects in Europe” (NETLIPSE publication, 2016).
