City Center Walking Tour

Discover Turin during a guided walking tour through the city centre. An informal opportunity to explore the city while catching up with fellow NETLIPSE delegates before dinner.

We conclude the day with an informal Sunday dinner at Ristorante Da Angelino. The perfect opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces and meet new colleagues from across the NETLIPSE network ahead of the official programme.

Theme 1 - Cross-Border & Multi-Client Infrastructure Projects
Major infrastructure projects sometimes cross organisational and national boundaries. This block explores what that means for the organisations responsible for their delivery. Through cases from Italy, the Netherlands and the Danube region, we will discuss the challenges of working across borders, coordinating multiple clients and stakeholders, and financing major European infrastructure.

The Research Café brings the latest academic insights directly into the NETLIPSE network. In a dynamic café setting, researchers will share their work in small groups, giving participants the opportunity to engage directly with emerging ideas and discuss how they relate to the realities of managing major infrastructure projects.

Site Visit: TELT Tunnel Construction Site

In the afternoon, we travel to Chiomonte by bus for an exclusive visit to the Lyon–Turin corridor project. Hosted by TELT, the visit provides a first-hand look at one of Europe's major cross-border infrastructure projects and the construction of the new tunnel through the Alps, connecting France and Italy.

After returning from Chiomonte, we conclude the first day with the NETLIPSE Network Dinner at Ristorante Arcadia. The dinner, generously sponsored by SITAF, offers an informal setting to reflect on the day's discussions and connect with colleagues from across the network.

Theme 3 - Managing Projects Within Portfolios
Major projects rarely operate in isolation. They form part of wider portfolios in which projects compete for resources, depend on one another and contribute to shared organisational objectives. This block explores how infrastructure organisations manage projects within this wider context, using practical examples from Germany, Belgium, France and the Netherlands.

Theme 4 - Project Team Culture Building and Development
Successful infrastructure delivery is not only about structures, processes and contracts, it ultimately depends on people. In this final thematic block, we explore how project leaders can build and maintain effective teams in complex delivery environments. Cases from Oosterweel and PHS Nijmegen provide the basis for a discussion on team development, collaboration, trust and keeping teams motivated over the course of major projects.
